We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our clients' dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive culinary experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee kitchen operations, supervise staff, and contribute to the creation of memorable dining experiences. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food safety and quality, ensuring smooth kitchen workflows, and supporting the Head Chef in daily management tasks.

Duties

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of a diverse range of dishes, ensuring consistency and presentation standards are met.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain a cohesive team environment.
  • Oversee food production processes, ensuring efficient utilisation of ingredients and adherence to recipes.
  • Manage daily kitchen operations, including stock control, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Support the Head Chef in menu planning, development, and implementation of new dishes.
  • Ensure all food safety standards are strictly followed, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures.
  • Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery during busy periods.
  • Monitor food quality during service to uphold the establishment's reputation for excellence.
  • Assist in training new team members and fostering a positive working environment.

Experience

  • Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment.
  • Extensive background in food production, food preparation, and cooking techniques.
  • Previous experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen hygiene.
  • Experience with menu development and implementing culinary innovations.
  • Familiarity with serving procedures and customer service principles is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
