Position Overview

Our client is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Design Assistant who is eager to learn, passionate about interior design, and excited to build a long-term career in residential remodeling. This entry-level role is ideal for a recent graduate or someone with up to two years of experience who enjoys helping others, has a strong eye for design, and thrives in a collaborative environment. Working alongside an experienced Design Coordinator, you'll assist with client meetings, design selections, presentations, showroom visits, and project coordination while learning the company's design process.

Responsibilities

Assist with client meetings to understand project goals, style preferences, and budgets

Help create design presentations, mood boards, and material sample packages

Source finishes, fixtures, lighting, cabinetry, tile, paint, and other materials

Assist with site measurements and residential project visits

Prepare product specifications and project documentation

Track material orders, lead times, and deliveries

Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors

Maintain organized project files and Buildertrend documentation

Support the Design Coordinator with daily project tasks and client communication

What We're Looking For

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in interior design, Interior Architecture, or a related field preferred
  • Open to recent graduates with internship experience or candidates with 0–2 years of residential design experience •

Experience with SketchUp, AutoCAD, Chief Architect, Revit or similar design software preferred

Strong eye for color, materials, and interior design

Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail

Comfortable working directly with homeowners and trade partners

Experience with Buildertrend, Adobe Creative Suite, or Canva is a plus

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
