VP & Practice Lead (AI & Data) – APAC
Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking an entrepreneurial, commercially driven, and visionary Vice President (VP) & Practice Lead (AI & Data) to establish, scale, and lead our regional AI & Data Practice across APAC.
This is a strategic leadership role responsible for building a market-leading AI consulting and delivery capability that enables enterprises to accelerate AI-driven business transformation. The successful candidate will define the practice vision and strategy, develop differentiated AI and Data offerings, build high-performing consulting and engineering teams, engage C-suite executives, and drive sustainable revenue growth and profitability.
The VP will serve as a trusted advisor to enterprise customers, leading complex AI transformation initiatives from strategy and business case development through implementation and value realization. The role will collaborate closely with Sales, Delivery, Engineering, regional leadership, strategic technology partners, and FPT's global AI teams.
Key Responsibilities
Practice Strategy & Leadership
- Define and execute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for FPT's AI & Data Practice across APAC.
- Build and scale a high-performing AI consulting and delivery organization aligned with FPT's global AI strategy.
- Develop a differentiated service portfolio spanning AI Strategy, Generative AI, Machine Learning, Data Platforms, Intelligent Automation, AI Governance, and enterprise AI Transformation.
- Establish reusable methodologies, frameworks, accelerators, reference architectures, and industry best practices.
- Build the practice into a profitable, scalable, and sustainable business with clear growth objectives and performance targets.
- Drive alignment across regional Sales, Delivery, Engineering, and global AI capabilities.
AI Transformation Consulting & Executive Advisory
- Act as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives and senior business leaders on AI-driven transformation.
- Lead executive workshops, AI discovery sessions, strategy engagements, and transformation programs.
- Help customers define AI visions, transformation roadmaps, business cases, investment priorities, and value realization plans.
- Advise enterprises on AI operating models, governance, organizational design, Responsible AI, and risk management.
- Conduct AI maturity assessments and identify high-value business use cases.
- Guide customers through the full AI adoption lifecycle, from strategy and experimentation to enterprise-scale implementation and measurable business outcomes.
Business Development & Presales
- Partner with Sales and Account teams to identify, qualify, shape, and close strategic AI and Data opportunities.
- Lead major pursuits, executive presentations, proposals, commercial discussions, and solution-shaping activities.
- Develop differentiated AI value propositions, go-to-market strategies, and commercial models.
- Support RFP responses, customer workshops, demonstrations, prototypes, and proof-of-concepts.
- Build trusted executive relationships with enterprise customers, strategic partners, and ecosystem stakeholders.
- Own AI consulting revenue growth, pipeline development, deal conversion, and practice profitability.
Practice & Capability Development
- Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing teams of AI consultants, architects, data scientists, data engineers, AI engineers, and transformation specialists.
- Define career frameworks, capability development plans, certification pathways, and technical learning programs.
- Establish communities of practice and structured knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Build delivery standards, governance models, quality assurance processes, and reusable engagement methodologies.
- Develop AI assets, accelerators, reference architectures, and industry-specific solutions to improve differentiation and delivery efficiency.
Solution Architecture & Delivery Oversight
- Provide executive oversight across strategic AI consulting and delivery engagements.
- Ensure solutions align with customer business objectives, enterprise architecture standards, scalability, security, governance, and Responsible AI principles.
- Review solution architectures, delivery quality, technical governance, and program risks.
- Support complex AI transformation programs throughout the full engagement lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering and Delivery teams to ensure successful implementation, adoption, and value realization.
Innovation, Ecosystem & Partnerships
- Define and evolve FPT's region AI go-to-market strategy and service portfolio.
- Build strategic partnerships with leading hyperscalers, data platforms, and AI technology providers, including Microsoft, AWS, Google Cloud, NVIDIA, Databricks, Snowflake, and OpenAI.
- Stay current with emerging AI technologies, market developments, regulatory trends, and industry best practices.
- Drive innovation through AI accelerators, reusable solutions, reference implementations, and industry-specific offerings.
- Represent FPT at executive forums, conferences, customer events, partner engagements, and thought leadership initiatives.
Financial & Operational Leadership
- Own practice P&L, revenue growth, gross margin, utilization, resource planning, and delivery performance.
- Develop annual business plans, budgets, investment priorities, and workforce strategies.
- Monitor practice KPIs, forecasting accuracy, pipeline health, and operational performance.
- Ensure effective resource planning and capability alignment across consulting and delivery engagements.
- Drive continuous improvement in productivity, delivery quality, commercial performance, and customer outcomes.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Master's degree, MBA, or PhD is advantageous.
- Relevant AI, Cloud, Data, or Enterprise Architecture certifications are preferred.
Experience
- 15+ years of experience in technology consulting, digital transformation, AI, Data, or related leadership roles.
- At least 8 years of leadership experience managing consulting teams, technology practices, or business units.
- Proven experience building, scaling, and commercializing AI and/or Data consulting practices.
- Strong track record in AI transformation consulting, executive advisory, and enterprise-scale technology programs.
- Demonstrated experience owning consulting P&L, revenue growth, pipeline development, and business performance.
- Experience leading regional consulting or technology teams across APAC is highly desirable.
- Strong background in presales, solution consulting, strategic pursuits, and executive stakeholder management.
- Experience within global system integrators, management or technology consulting firms, or leading technology companies is preferred.
