Davidson is hiring a MBSE Systems Engineer on-site in Huntsville, AL who will work with the Air Force designing, developing, and deploying software for the United States' next-generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). This is an opportunity to start with a clean slate, rather than revamping a decades-old missile.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform in a "Model Based Systems Engineering" (MBSE) environment
  • Analyze users' requirements, concept of operations documents and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications
  • Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities
  • Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches and conduct feasibility studies
  • Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design and technology
  • Incorporate new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations
  • Develop technical, system Architecture and system design documentation
  • Collaborates with Product Owners regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and associated issues
  • Take responsibility for the technical integrity of systems engineering work

Job Requirements

  • 15+ years experience as a software and systems engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management or related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • 4 years of additional software or systems engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
  • Experience with SysML, UML, or other modeling languages
  • Excellent organizational and facilitation skills
  • Self-starter able to step up to difficult challenges

Desired Competencies

  • Experience with safety critical and nuclear critical software development (DO-178C, AFMAN 91-119, DO-330, etc.)
  • Understanding of MIL-STD-882
