As a Process Engineer in our rolling mill operations, you will play a critical role in improving product quality, optimizing processes, and driving operational efficiency in a highly technical manufacturing environment. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams while making a measurable impact on performance and innovation.
Your Role at a Glance
- Provide day-to-day technical support to resolve process and quality issues
- Monitor and optimize process variables to improve consistency and reduce variation
- Lead and support continuous improvement and quality initiatives
- Analyze process data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and work instructions
- Train and coach operators while capturing critical process knowledge
- Support plant trials, new process development, and implementation of new technologies
- Collaborate with R&D, Industrialization, and global process teams
- Contribute technical expertise to capital projects and equipment upgrades
- Audit processes to ensure adherence to standards and sustain improvements
- Participate in benchmarking and technology evaluations
- Support troubleshooting during operational events, including occasional off-hour support
What Sets You Apart
We're looking for individuals who bring the right mix of experience, mindset, and motivation:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgical, Materials Science, or related field) required
- 1-5 years of experience in manufacturing, steel, or heavy industry preferred
- Exposure to hot rolling, pipe manufacturing, or metal forming processes is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and process control principles
- Knowledge of metallurgy, thermal processes, or deformation processes preferred
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or structured problem-solving methodologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and process monitoring systems preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and results orientation
- Strong shop-floor engagement and ability to build trust with operations teams
