Capital Area Michigan Works! (CAMW!) Lansing, Michigan | Full-Time | Non-Exempt | On-Site Position w/ periodic flexibility to work from home

At Capital Area Michigan Works! (CAMW!), we believe strong communities start with strong connections between employers and talent. CAMW! is a workforce development organization serving Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham counties, partnering with businesses to develop recruiting and retention strategies while helping job seekers access education, training, and career opportunities.

In this role, you'll help ensure students, educators, employers, and workforce partners are aligned around career pathways that prepare individuals for in-demand careers and support the region's workforce needs.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Coordinates resources and events with educators, employers, and community partners.
  • Participates in and coordinates CAMW! staff engagement in Individual Employment Strategy (IEP) meetings with K-12 partners, as needed.
  • Participates in CAMW! projects connected to K-16 grants.
  • Engages with K-12 educational partners in classrooms, as needed, to represent workforce development connection.
  • Plans and coordinates events.
  • Leads and facilitates multiple committees.
  • Engages members and manages relationships.
  • Maintains content on website.
  • Writes required monthly and annual reports.
  • Develops a sustainable funding structure for applicable initiatives.
  • Coordinates and implements strategies related to career pathway and awareness events.
  • Travels to events to meet and network with educators and community partners.

What We're Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or at least two-four years of work experience in human resources, business, education, psychology, or related social science area is required.
  • Experience in fundraising and/or grant writing is preferred.
  • Business Solutions Professional (BSP) Certification is preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and, PowerPoint) and/or Google applications, databases, and websites is preferred.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of workforce development programs and resources.
  • Ability to effectively facilitate groups and committees working toward a common goal.

  • Ability to plan and implement fundraising and fund development strategies.
  • Strong proficiency in Google and Microsoft Suite.
  • Ability to effectively utilize web content management software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
  • Deadline driven with excellent time management ability.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
