Custodian (Part-Time)
Job description
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor Community Programs (Older Adults), is responsible for daily cleaning, room set up, and minor repairs at the Thunder Bay 55 Plus Centre. Works with staff and volunteers to create an atmosphere that encourages seniors to participate in all aspects of the Centre.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Mops floor as necessary to ensure they are clean and dry.
- Empties garbage in rooms and offices.
- Replenishes paper towels, toilet tissue, and soap in all washrooms and ensures washrooms are clean.
- Empties garbage within Centre to outside garbage storage.
- May be required to perform minor repairs.
- Cleans windows and dust.
- Shovel walkway as needed.
- Set up rooms as needed.
- Responsible for cleaning throughout the Centre.
- Performs other duties as may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 education and experience custodial/janitorial work
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Must have current standard first aid and CPR or get certified within 3 months of starting should one receive the position;
- Must undergo a successful Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Part-time
- Irregular hours (may be required to work evenings/weekends).
