Payroll Administrator

Position Description
The Payroll Administrator supports the accurate and timely processing of payroll for team members across Applied Medical. This payroll administrator role administers payroll operations, maintains payroll records, and maintains compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. The Payroll Administrator manages wage calculations, deductions, benefits administration, and data integrity across enterprise resource planning (ERP) and human capital management (HCM) platforms. This role keeps transactions accurate, payroll inquiries answered efficiently, and team members paid correctly and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll transactions, including wages, salaries, bonuses, deductions, and benefit withholdings, to support accurate biweekly payroll
- Maintain payroll records and documentation in compliance with payroll regulations, company policies, and Applied Medical quality systems
- Monitor data interfaces between enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and human capital management (HCM) platforms such as SAP and UKG Workforce to maintain accurate data integration
- Identify discrepancies, investigate errors, and reconcile payroll data to maintain accurate reporting
- Input and maintain team member time off requests, including vacation and sick leave, for accurate payroll calculations
- Respond to payroll inquiries from team members, managers, and external agencies, including employment verification and documentation requests
- Collaborate with human resources, finance, and management to support payroll processes and data accuracy
- Stay current on payroll tax laws, compliance requirements, and regulations that affect payroll processing

- Providing clear communication and reliable payroll support to team members, managers, and cross-functional departments
- Maintaining compliance with payroll tax regulations, company policies, and Applied Medical quality system standards
- Contributing to efficient payroll operations through accurate records and dependable reporting
Position Requirements
This position requires the following skills and attributes
- At least three years of payroll experience
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and reporting
- Strong analytical skills to review payroll data, identify discrepancies, and support reconciliation
- Clear, professional communication when responding to payroll inquiries and collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Strong organizational skills for managing payroll documentation, records, and administrative tasks
- Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
- Working knowledge of payroll fundamentals, including wages, deductions, benefits administration, and compliance
- Ability to pass a background check prior to employment
Preferred
The following skills and attributes are preferred
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP
- Experience with UKG payroll or human capital management (HCM) systems such as SAP SuccessFactors and Workforce
- Prior experience in payroll administration, payroll processing, or payroll operations
- Bilingual communication skills that support collaboration with diverse teams
