Responsibilities Essential Functions • Under direct supervision of the Nurse Manager, administers the Phase I, II, and III cardiac or pulmonary rehab programs, which includes passive/active assistive exercises, participation in multidisciplinary team conferences, and patient education. • Demonstrates competency in unit specific tasks and skills as outlined in the unit specific competency list. • Documents according to unit specific policies and guidelines. • Communicates appropriate information regarding the patient’s condition to the Registered Nurse (RN) , Respiratory Therapist (RRT), and other members of the healthcare team. • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards. • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Other Related Functions • Participates in nursing or clinical Quality Assurance audits as assigned. • Demonstrates awareness of legal issues, patient rights, and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies. • Practices efficient use of supplies and resources. • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized unit. • Demonstrates knowledge of patient needs, equipment use, cardiac and pulmonary rehab goals, and principles of adult education. • Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, as well as to provide the care needed as described in the unit’s/area’s/department’s policies and procedures.
