Design Engineer – Sheet Metal & Weldment Design

Roles & Responsibilities
- Design and detail sheet metal components and weldment assemblies for generator set (Genset) enclosures.
- Develop 3D models, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and manufacturing documentation using Creo.
- Create detailed engineering drawings with GD&T, tolerances, BOMs, and weld specifications.
- Design enclosure structures ensuring compliance with strength, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost requirements.
- Prepare and maintain engineering change requests (ECRs) and engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Manage product data, revisions, and document control through Teamcenter PLM.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and cross-functional teams to address design and production issues.
- Support prototype development, testing, validation, and implementation of design improvements.
- Utilize SAP for material master management, BOM creation, and engineering-related data management.
- Generate and maintain technical documentation, reports, and engineering records.
- Participate in design reviews, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical support for production, supplier development, and field-related engineering concerns.

Work Experience
- Creo Parametric – 3D Modeling, Sheet Metal, Weldments, Assemblies, and Detailing.
- Teamcenter – Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and document management.
- SAP – BOM handling, material management, and engineering data maintenance.
- AutoCAD – 2D drafting and detailing.
- Microsoft Excel – Data analysis, reporting, BOM management, and documentation.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes, welding methods, and fabrication techniques.
- Understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and engineering drawing standards
