IT Infrastructure Specialist - Storage
Job description
We are seeking a Senior NetApp Storage Engineer to support a strategic storage platform replacement initiative. The role will focus on the deployment and integration of the new solution, data migration activities, technical documentation, and ensuring a secure, resilient, and operationally efficient storage environment. The successful candidate will provide hands-on technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle and support teams managing unstructured data discovery, cleanup, and migration efforts.
Responsibilities
Support the deployment and configuration of the new storage platform Assist with solution design and technical documentation Plan and execute file storage migration activities Provide technical guidance during data inventory and cleanup initiatives Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related issues throughout the project lifecycle Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and security teams to ensure successful delivery of the solution
Must-have knowledge and experience
- Senior experience in managing NetApp file storage solution (5+ years)
- Profieciency in NetApp file storage (CIFS and NFS) in MetroCluster setup
- Basic AD knowledge
- Distributed File System (DFS)
- Understanding File Shares' Security / access rights, protection against cyber threats etc..
- Preferably experience with OPSWAT
- Understanding backup of File Shares through NetBackup DNAS protocol
- Understanding of IT Infrastructure/Solution Architecture
- Understanding of DataCenter networking
- Experience in Disaster Recovery Scenarious
- Experience in migration file storage
- Good to have experience with DataDobi StorageMAP
- Proficient experience in MS Office 365
Expected tasks
- Technical support for storage solution replacement, including:
- Supporting solution installation/configuration
- Support in documenting design
- Data migration to the new platform
- Technical support to people handling unstructured data inventory and cleanups
