Referral Coordinator - Access Center

A Day in the Life

This position will process referrals both into and out of MPN ambulatory practices, including the processing of prior authorizations, as needed.  Referral Coordinators may also transcribe incoming referrals from external practices into Oracle Referral Management, perform closed-loop communication of the referral upon referral closure/completion, and may also assist in routing calls re: referral scheduling or status to the correct referral team member. This role requires superior customer service skills and the proven ability to communicate effectively and accurately, both verbally and in writing. The ideal candidate can operate in a fast-paced environment, due to constantly changing requirements of healthcare and is able to adapt by embracing and supporting change as necessary to obtain operational and performance efficiencies. 

What’s Required 

• Associate’s degree in Health Services Administration or related field preferred. 

  In lieu of an Associate’s Degree, candidate must have at least 3 years’ of experience in health care. 

  Knowledge of MHC’s automated information systems, such as Oracle and all Microsoft products preferred.
