The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000 which will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
Operations Lead - Assembly
The Operations Lead - Assembly is responsible for overseeing a portion of the assembly activities at INNIO’s engine manufacturing facility in Welland. This role includes directly leading a team of assembly technicians to meet business goals and achieve overall productivity and efficiency targets. The successful candidate will have past experience in operations management and have shown success in leading and developing a manufacturing team.
Duties & responsibilities
- Lead a portion of the technician team to maximize area productivity and achieve customer delivery goals
- Quickly identify upcoming challenges and develop strategies to mitigate
- Coordinate with supporting functions like engineering, quality & materials to ensure downtime is minimized on the line
- Interview and recruit new technicians for the area
- Develop and communicate business expectations to technician team
- Manage indirect spending to meet budgetary goals
- Partner with human resources to develop and adjust policies
- Ensure all health and safety guidelines are followed and improvements are consistently implemented
- Assist technician team with scheduling concerns to maximize efficiency and throughput
- Develop and implement strategies to keep employees motivated and dedicated
- Develop and initiate new processes to reduce downtime and improve efficiency on the line
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team
- Lead and encourage staff to operate at a high level of effectiveness
Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of production management experience
- Bachelor’s degree in operations management or engineering preferred
- Demonstrated experience leading a large, multi-shift manufacturing workforce
- Able to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills
- Expert in Microsoft Office tools; Experience with Oracle ERP an asset
- Six Sigma and LEAN manufacturing certification is an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Collaborative leader with strong customer focus
- Able to bring teams together to meet common goals and improve morale
- Able to build cross-functional relationships to drive success
