Job description

Role Purpose:

NBCUniversal is seeking a Trademark Specialist to support the Intellectual Property team, working closely with attorneys and paralegals managing NBCUniversal’s extensive worldwide trademark portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate effectively to identify, present, and discuss challenges early. They will also be detail-oriented and attentive, with excellent organizational and proofreading skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide end-to-end support across all aspects of the trademark lifecycle, from prosecution and maintenance to renewals and enforcement 
  • Research, document, and prepare trademark specimens for use-based filings, renewals, and office action responses
  • Assist with evidence gathering for trademark enforcement matters
  • Review and draft key trademark documents, including affidavits, declarations, and powers of attorney
  • Manage document execution workflows, including routing, signature tracking, and coordinating notarization and legalization
  • Prepare docket reports, review data, and monitor deadlines
  • Track matter status, monitor outstanding responses, and coordinate follow-up communications
  • Maintain internal trademark reference materials, including process updates, ownership/chain‑of‑title history, and use information
  • Use internal and external databases to generate reports and support trademark portfolio tracking
  • Contribute to special projects and other team priorities as assigned 

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of relevant legal experience in a professional role requiring organizational skills, careful attention to detail, and trademark expertise
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • Adept and comfortable working with a variety of online tools and databases, preferably with trademark docketing systems (e.g., Anaqua) and trademark platforms (e.g., SAEGIS)

Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the Universal City, CA office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

Salary range: $65,000 - $85,000
