Primary Responsibilities

The primary responsibility is to receive, store, and pick Orders, and distribute material and products within the distribution center. As with all positions at Tree of Life Canada we expect that all actions will be consistent with Tree of Life Canada’s Mission, Vision and Values.

Essential Functions

  • Support and participate in food safety programs including SQF (Safe Quality Food)
  • Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, and/or requisition to determine items to be moved or distributed.
  • Bring overhead product down to pick bay.
  • Stock and restock product in proper locations including overhead locations.
  • Rotate stock according to date coding.
  • Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Receive, record, put away, and rotate product. Sort and store perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.
  • Use computer and/or Radio Frequency Unit to record and track product.
  • Responsible of picking Key Account warehouse orders.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. This includes disposing of pallet boards, wood chips, etc.
  • Other duties and special projects as requested.
  • Must maintain good attendance and maintain safe work practices.
  • Maintain safeguards of confidential company information.
  • Back up Shipper duties when required.
  • Should be comfortable working in a Fast-paced warehouse setting with exposure to multiple temperature zones, including:
  • Ambient (dry storage): 55°F–75°F (13°C–24°C)
  • Refrigerated/cooler: 32°F–45°F (0°C–7°C)
  • Frozen: -10°F–0°F (-23°C–-18°C)
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
  • May require working in cold or freezer environments for extended periods.
  • Use of warehouse equipment such as scissor lifts, pallet jacks, forklifts, or reach trucks.
  • Role may involve early mornings, late evenings, weekends, or overtime depending on operational needs.
  • Requires adherence to PPE guidelines, including cold-weather gear in low-temperature zones.
  • Other duties and special project as required

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

  • High School diploma and a minimum of one (1) year of previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse, including receiving, pulling orders, packing and shipping preferred.
  • Previous experience operating powered industrial equipment (i.e., forklift narrow reach truck,pallet jacks, stock pickers, etc.) preferred .
  • Ability to communicate well with internal customers and management.
  • Ability to follow safe working practices, as instructed.
  • Ability to efficiently work independent of direct supervision.
  • Must be able to carry, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • The associate is frequently required to stand, and walk while performing the duties and is subject to a warehouse environment where temperatures can vary from very cool to very warm.

The base compensation for this role is $22
