General Surgery NP or PA needed in Scottsbluff, NE

About the Position
An established, regional healthcare system in Scottsbluff, Nebraska is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its General Surgery team. This is an outstanding opportunity to practice alongside an experienced group of surgeons and advanced practice providers within one of western Nebraska's leading referral centers.
The General Surgery department provides a broad range of surgical services to patients throughout western Nebraska, eastern Wyoming, and the surrounding region. As part of the area's only tertiary referral medical center and the only Level II Trauma Center in Nebraska west of Kearney, the surgical team manages both elective and emergency surgical cases using the latest minimally invasive and robotic surgical technology.
Responsibilities include
- Evaluate patients through comprehensive histories and physical examinations
- Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic tests and imaging
- Develop and implement individualized treatment and management plans
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care
- Prescribe medications within scope of practice
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, specialists, nursing staff, and ancillary services to provide seamless patient care
- Participate in the care of patients with a wide variety of general surgical conditions, including hernias, breast disease, gastrointestinal disorders, trauma, vascular conditions, and emergency surgical cases
- Support minimally invasive laparoscopic and advanced robotic surgery programs utilizing the da Vinci® Surgical System
The surgical practice includes multiple board-certified surgeons along with experienced advanced practice providers, offering a collaborative, team-oriented environment with excellent resources and support.
Qualifications
You may be a great fit if you have
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- National board certification
- Eligible for or currently licensed as an APRN or PA in the State of Nebraska
- Strong clinical, communication, and collaborative skills
- Surgical or hospital-based experience is preferred, but qualified candidates with relevant experience are encouraged to apply
