We are currently seeking a meticulous and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Houston, Texas . The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations, ensuring the integrity of our financial data, and contributing to the strategic financial planning of the company.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
• Prepare and present accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Lead the financial management of projects, including detailed job costing, budget tracking, and variance analysis to ensure project profitability.
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal financial controls, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and ensure compliance.
• Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors as required.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial regulations and tax filing requirements.
• Analyse financial performance and provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
• Proven experience working as an Accounting Manager, Finance Manager, or in a similar senior accounting position.
• Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational abilities with a high attention to detail.
• A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA) is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in the construction, roofing, or a related project-based industry would be a significant advantage.
