Shift: Day Employment Status: Full-Time (.75 or greater) Hours per Pay Period: 1.00 = 80 hours every two weeks (Non-Exempt) Starting Wage DOE: $37.11 - 46.39 Chest Pain Center Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation, and ongoing oversight of the Chest Pain Center program. This role partners closely with the Chest Pain Center Medical Director to ensure a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach to care for patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome across the full continuum—from pre-hospital care through discharge and follow‑up. The Coordinator ensures high-quality, standardized, evidence-based care for low-, intermediate-, and high-risk chest pain patients, including STEMI and OHCA populations. This position provides leadership for daily operations, performance improvement, data management, accreditation, education, and outreach activities to sustain Chest Pain Center accreditation and optimize patient outcomes. Essential Job Functions

  • Models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic’s mission, vision, values, and service expectations.
  • Maintains compliance with all organizational, departmental, and regulatory requirements, ensuring competency in patient, employee, and environmental safety standards.
  • Ensures compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and organizational standards, policies, and protocols.
  • Oversees maintenance of the National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR)Cath/PCI and ACTION registries ensuring data integrity and use of registry data to drive performance improvement. Leads accreditation readiness efforts, including documentation, audits, and survey preparation.
  • Monitors quality, cost, and continuity of care; coordinates services to facilitate efficient patient progression across the continuum.
  • Oversees data collection, abstraction, validation, and submission in alignment with AHA/ACC standards.
  • Analyzes clinical and operational metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Leads Performance Improvement (PI) initiatives to enhance outcomes and reduce variation in care.
  • Develops and presents actionable data reports and recommendations to the Chest Pain Committee.
  • Provides strategic leadership for Chest Pain Committee initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
  • Collaborates with the Chest Pain Medical Director to develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based clinical pathways, protocols, order sets, and care pathways for ACS/STEMI care.
  • Standardizes care processes to reduce inappropriate variation.
  • Supports policy development and ongoing evaluation to ensure best practice integration.
  • Serves as a liaison among Cardiology, ED, Hospitalists, Cath Lab, ICU/CVU/IMC, Telemetry, EMS, and referral facilities.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary huddles to support care coordination and operational alignment.
  • Leads Chest Pain Committee and multidisciplinary ACS peer review meetings.
  • Identifies fragmentation or duplication in care processes and assists teams in optimizing resource utilization and collaboration.
  • Identifies gaps, duplication, or fragmentation in care processes and leads improvement efforts.
  • Builds and maintains strong collaborative relationships across departments and regional partners.
  • Develops and delivers education on ACS/STEMI care, EHAC, Hands-Only CPR, and AHA guidelines.
  • Coordinates interdisciplinary education and training opportunities.
  • Provides education on chest pain management, risk reduction, and secondary prevention.
  • Ensures standardized discharge education using approved materials (e.g., My Heart and I).
  • Serves as a community resource for cardiovascular education and prevention initiatives.
  • Serves as EMS liaison to strengthen communication, collaboration, and process improvement.
  • Leads EMS case reviews, debriefs, and peer reviews with outcome-based feedback.
  • Supports outreach and education for EMS agencies and referral facilities to ensure continuity of care..
  • Serves as a resource within the community for Early Heart Attack Care (EHAC), Hands-only CPR, and ACS education
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and influence change across departments
  • Promotes positive working relationships with inpatient, outpatient, pre-hospital, and referral facilities services.
  • Expertise in clinical registries, data analysis, and performance improvement methodologies
  • Ability to translate data into actionable strategies quality improvement initiatives.
  • Experience managing accreditation and regulatory programs, including multi-facility and system-level requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage complex initiatives
  • Coordinates interdisciplinary communication related to patient care and departmental operations.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective conflict resolution and stakeholder engagement

Minimum Qualifications Education •Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Bachelors of Arts in Nursing (BAN)

Experience •Three years of professional nursing in the assigned service or specialty area related to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications and Licenses •Requires BLS and ACLS certifications At hire •Current RN license in the state of Montana At hire
