The Med Surg Float Pool RN Part Time Nights will
- Serve as a positive and engaged member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, fostering a collaborative, respectful, and patient-centered environment while supporting colleagues across multiple medical-surgical units.
- Utilize advanced clinical assessment and critical thinking skills to evaluate, monitor, and identify changes in the physical, emotional, and psychosocial health status of assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards, hospital policies, and evidence-based practice guidelines.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care that address patient needs, promote optimal outcomes, and facilitate safe transitions throughout the continuum of care. Perform nursing procedures and interventions competently and safely, ensuring all care is delivered in accordance with established Standards of Care, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies and procedures.
- Administer medications, intravenous therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments accurately and safely while adhering to medication administration policies, monitoring for therapeutic effectiveness, and identifying and responding to adverse reactions.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability by providing high-quality nursing care across diverse medical-surgical patient populations and unit settings, quickly integrating into unit workflows and team dynamics.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, case managers, and ancillary staff to coordinate comprehensive patient care and achieve desired clinical outcomes.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, discharge instructions, and self-care strategies to promote informed decision-making and continuity of care.
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition, initiating appropriate interventions, communicating concerns to the healthcare team, and escalating care when necessary.
- Advocate for patient safety by adhering to infection prevention protocols, fall prevention measures, quality initiatives, and patient safety standards.
- Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely documentation of all patient assessments, interventions, treatments, responses to care, and interdisciplinary communications in the electronic medical record.
- Participate in unit-based initiatives, continuing education activities, and professional development opportunities to enhance clinical knowledge, maintain competency, and support excellence in nursing practice.
- Demonstrate accountability, professionalism, and adherence to ethical and legal standards while delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to a diverse patient population.
Requirements
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey
- BSN preferred or must be obtained within three (3) years of hire date
- BLS certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association
- ECG certification obtained during clinical orientation
Salary Range: 45.00 - 58.00 USD
We offer competitive base rates that are determined by many factors, including job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. In addition to base salary, some positions may be eligible for clinical certification pay and shift differentials.
The salary range listed for exempt positions reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
