Overview The Testing and Commissioning Specialist will support Lemartec data center projects from initial design through project closeout. This role is responsible for executing and coordinating all startup, commissioning, testing, and training activities to ensure systems operate according to design intent and client expectations. The Specialist collaborates with the team to ensure the successful and safe commissioning of all critical systems. Location & Travel Details You’ll get the opportunity to travel across the US, helping our team build infrastructure projects. This is a traveling position, requiring travel up to 100% of the time. You may support projects located in various states throughout the US. Potential project locations may include, but are not limited to, PA, KS, NC, SC, VA, GA, TX, FL, IA, WY, and additional locations are added frequently as our organization continues to grow. Responsibilities Support and execute the startup and commissioning plan from construction turnover through final handoff to operations. Follow and apply MPC's lock-out/tag-out procedures during the transition from construction to commissioning until turnover to the client. Ensure startup and commissioning deliverables are met in accordance with site-specific procedures, project schedules, contract requirements, and safety protocols. Review engineering drawings and specifications to confirm adequate provisions for flushing, cleaning, testing, and other pre-commissioning activities. Coordinate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Operations to confirm that equipment and services provided through subcontracts meet project specifications during and after commissioning. Facilitate and support OEM and vendor training sessions for client personnel, including plant operations and maintenance teams. Collaborate with subcontractors and vendor representatives during start-up, commissioning, and performance testing activities. Organize and lead daily start-up Plan of the Day (POD) meetings; prepare and distribute meeting minutes. Support the system turnover process by scheduling and participating in system walkdowns and initial system operations. Maintain daily logs of operational, maintenance, and safety activities including test results, instrument readings, and details of equipment issues and resolution. Coordinate commissioning-related subcontractor support and field labor in collaboration with site construction management. Qualifications Work Experience and Education Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college 5+ years of experience in testing and commissioning projects. Experience in commissioning mechanical, electrical, and controls systems in mission-critical environments such as data centers. Understanding of utility systems (water, fuel, steam), electrical distribution systems, PLCs, DCS platforms, and rotating equipment (e.g., boilers, turbines). Working knowledge of safety regulations, testing protocols, project schedules, and commissioning milestones. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and system control narratives. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Familiarity with local specifications and supplements to each and with reading blueprints and Proficiency in planning, scheduling, and production, in P6, Microsoft Project or equivalent software and in Microsoft Office suite of software-Excel/Word/Outlook also needed along with estimating software knowledge. Excellent organizational, presentation and interpersonal skills.
