About this Role

Lead Project Cost Control Specialist – Eagle Mountain, UT (75% On Project site)

QISG is hiring a Lead Project Cost Control Specialist to support a $250M, 286MW power generation EPC project in Eagle Mountain, UT, with an estimated 20-month duration.

  • Candidates may live anywhere in the U.S.
  • Must be willing to work 75% onsite in Eagle Mountain, UT for the duration of the project.
  • QISG covers travel and lodging expenses, including extended stays.
  • Candidates may travel home on weekends or remain onsite through project completion.

Seeking experience in EPC, utility, or heavy industrial construction cost control, including forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and change management.

Full-time, permanent QISG position — once this project is complete, you will transition to another project within the organization.

About the Role

At QISG, we design and build complex renewable infrastructure, with a strong focus on projects that power communities and strengthen the modern grid.

As a Lead Cost Control Specialist , you will take ownership of cost control execution across a major multi-year utility capital project, supporting T&D, substation, and power generation work from early execution through closeout.

This role is best suited for a senior project controls professional ready to operate in a lead capacity—owning cost reporting frameworks, guiding forecasting discipline, and supporting decision-making across the project team .

You will partner closely with Project Managers, Project Controls, Engineering, and Construction leadership to ensure accurate cost visibility, manage financial risk, and drive consistent cost control standards across complex grid infrastructure programs.

What You'll Do

Track and control costs across EPC utility projects, including transmission, substations, renewables, and utility construction

Manage budget vs. actuals, forecasts, and cost trends on multi-year capital programs

Develop and maintain EACs and ETCs to ensure accurate financial projections

Identify cost variances and risks early, escalating issues to project leadership

Support change management, including change orders, budget adjustments, and cost impacts

Partner with Project Managers, Operations, and technical teams to align financials with execution plans

Deliver clear cost reports, dashboards, and forecasts for leadership and stakeholders

Ensure compliance with Project Controls Execution Plans and company standards

Leverage JDE, EcoSys, Procore, Excel, and Power BI for job cost tracking and reporting

Act as a trusted cost advisor, driving continuous improvement in cost control practices

What You'll Bring

7+ years of project cost control or project controls experience within EPC and renewables environments

Strong hands-on expertise in cost forecasting, budget management, change management, and cost/risk trend analysis

Experience in project-based capital environments (not manufacturing or corporate accounting)

Advanced Excel skills; experience with JDE and/or EcoSys required, Procore preferred

Ability to translate complex cost data into clear, actionable insights for project leadership

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Willingness to be on project site 75% of time for a 22 month long project - This is a full time hire, not contract, elgible for full benefits.

  • Assistance with lodging in Eagle Mountain, UT offered if not already residing in the area.

If the employee does not currently reside in the Eagle Mountain, UT area and requires temporary housing for the duration of the project, rental expenses may be charged to the company P-card.
