About the Role

We're looking for a Staff Platform Engineer (Kubernetes, AWS & GCP) to own and scale the platform infrastructure powering one of Latin America's fastest-growing healthcare technology companies.

This is a highly hands-on engineering role, not a management position. You'll design production architectures, build platform capabilities from scratch, own Kubernetes across multiple cloud providers, improve developer experience, and ensure the platform remains secure, reliable, and scalable as the business grows.

What You'll Do

Platform Engineering;

• Design and own the platform architecture end-to-end
• Build shared backend infrastructure, APIs, internal tooling, and platform services
• Develop infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code
• Drive platform scalability and reliability

Cloud & Kubernetes;

• Manage Kubernetes clusters across AWS and GCP
• Improve networking, security, scalability, and workload orchestration
• Design highly available multi-cloud infrastructure
• Optimize platform performance and operational efficiency

Engineering & Automation;

• Develop production backend services and platform tooling
• Modernize and improve legacy systems
• Build observability, monitoring, and incident response capabilities
• Drive AI-assisted engineering workflows across the platform

Security & Compliance;

• Own platform security and compliance initiatives
• Build secure infrastructure supporting HIPAA, LGPD, ISO 27001, and similar standards
• Implement secrets management, audit logging, and zero-trust networking

What We're Looking For

Must Have;

• Extensive production experience with Kubernetes
• Strong hands-on AWS and GCP experience
• Backend engineering expertise
• Experience designing and shipping platform architecture
• Infrastructure as Code experience (Pulumi, Terraform, or similar)
• Experience modernizing legacy systems
• Production observability and incident management experience
• Experience working in regulated environments (HIPAA, SOC2, GDPR, LGPD, ISO 27001)
• Strong software engineering and debugging skills
• AI-first mindset with daily use of AI development tools
• High ownership and builder mentality

Nice to Have;

• Graph databases (Neo4j, Amazon Neptune)
• MongoDB or Firestore at scale
• Healthcare infrastructure experience
• FHIR APIs or EHR integrations
• Technical leadership and mentoring experience
• Service Mesh, Platform Engineering, or Developer Platform experience
