Department
Delivery Room Job Summary
Coordinates and manages the pre-arrival and arrival of obstetrical patients for inductions, procedures, Obstetrics Emergency Care Center (OBECC) visits, and testing appointments. Serves as the primary liaison between nursing staff, security, registration, and the patient to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient patient access and movement throughout the continuum of obstetrical care.
Required Qualifications
- Require basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a healthcare, scheduling, patient access, or customer service environment, including understanding of customer service role.
- Prefer knowledge of medical terminology and OB procedures.
- Prefer the ability to work with and effectively communicate (both verbally and written) with a diverse work force in all levels of the organization, including patients, nursing and ancillary departments.
- Prefer strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex scheduling scenarios and resolve workflow issues.
- Prefer strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility for weekend, holiday, and other shift work as scheduled.
