Overview

Infusion Medical Assistant - Float

Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center is looking to add a Medical Assistant to join our interdisciplinary oncology care teams across multiple locations and specialties. As a vital member of our clinical teams, Medical Oncology, Gynecologic Oncology, Radiation Oncology, and Infusion. Medical Assistants play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

The general pay scale for this position at WVCI is $22.00-$40.55 The actual hiring rate is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, internal equity, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to and from exam rooms and treatment areas.
  • Collect and document patient data including vital signs and medication updates.
  • Assist physicians and clinical staff with exams, procedures, and treatments.
  • Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated.
  • Coordinate orders for imaging, labs, referrals, and outside records.
  • Prepare and clean exam rooms and maintain inventory.
  • Provide patient communication, scheduling support, and documentation assistance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–3 years of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • NCMA certification preferred.
  • Current BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
