Are you passionate about supporting people to achieve their goals, build independence and improve their wellbeing? We are seeking motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistants to join our dynamic Mental Health Unit team.
The roles available are:
- Permanent part-time position (Monday–Thursday) within the Youth Mental Health team.
- Casual opportunities across a 7-day service throughout the unit, supporting Youth, Adult and Older Adult Mental Health services.
In these roles, you will work under the direction and supervision of registered Occupational Therapists to support the delivery of high-quality, person-centred therapy programs. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful patient outcomes while developing your skills and experience within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities
Program Delivery:
- Assist with the delivery and facilitation of individual and group therapy activities and programs as directed by Occupational Therapists.
- Support patients to engage in meaningful activities that promote recovery, participation and wellbeing.
Progress Tracking:
- Complete accurate documentation regarding patient participation, progress and response to therapy interventions.
Resource Management:
- Prepare therapy environments, maintain equipment, and manufacture or adapt therapy resources as directed.
- Assist with ensuring therapy spaces and resources are safe, organised and appropriate for patient use.
Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, patients, families and carers to support holistic, person-centred care.
What We Are Looking For
Selection Criteria:
- Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance, or currently working towards this qualification; OR current Occupational Therapy student.
- Willingness to undertake a broad range of patient-facing and non-patient-related tasks.
- Ability to prioritise workload and respond effectively to competing demands.
- Competency using Microsoft Office applications and demonstrated computer literacy.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Candidates with the following will be highly regarded:
- Experience facilitating groups and contributing to group therapy programs.
- Experience supporting patients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
