Job description

The Security Communications Center is a dynamic, fast paced, team oriented environment that operates as the heart of the Security department. A Security Communications Center (SCC) Officer is responsible for working with their other team members to complete the daily operations of the Wynn Las Vegas Security Communications Center which include; monitoring security radio channels, relaying timely and precise information to relevant security personnel, performing surveillance duties, answering telephones, inputting information into a database and coordinating the response of outside agencies such as Paramedics or the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department all while ensuring the safety and security of Wynn guests, employees and facilities. An SCC Officer must be able to multi-task and operate during high volume and/or high stress periods.

An SCC Officers duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for maintaining the Wynn standards of exceptional service to patrons and employees.
  • Will adhere to all Forbes Five Star standards in order to maintain the integrity of the Wynn/Encore Las Vegas, while promoting hotel facilities and services.
  • Understands and is well-versed in the resort/hotel features and services offered on our property, including our outlets, hours of operations, activities and events available to patrons.
  • Utilize the Security radio system to monitor the traffic being transmitted over the Security Department radio channels, acknowledging all traffic directed to the Security Communications Center, broadcasting all pertinent information regarding ongoing situations, and directing the response of Security personnel over the radio.
  • Utilize the Telephone system to answer all incoming telephone calls to the Security Department, from within the company as well as outside of the company and to contact Emergency services during critical incidents or events.
  • Utilize the CCTV camera system to conduct active surveillance of the property, monitor all ongoing and active Security responses, conduct camera reviews of situations that have already occurred and save all video coverage per the SCC policies and procedures.
  • Utilize our database to effectively document all incidents and calls for service, ensuring that each entry in the database is updated as additional information is provided and that ALL relevant, accurate information is documented for each and every call for service.
  • Monitor for any activations of the Safety Button system. In the event of an activation, properly coordinate the response of Security personnel and any requested outside agencies, while documenting all details of the incident.
  • Monitor the emergency exits, back of house entryways and employee garage gates to ensure that only authorized individuals are utilizing these entries.
  • Utilize multiple modes of communication to facilitate the dissemination of information, within the department and to other departments/property wide (if needed) during critical events.
  • Coordinate with other departments (Employee Relations, Guest Claims, Legal, Risk Management, Fire Control Center, Surveillance, Loss Prevention and others) to ensure that all requests for assistance and camera coverage are completed in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with outside agencies (Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Clark County Fire Department and others) during critical incidents or events.
  • Use logic and reasoning to analyze, understand and evaluate complex situations by identifying the strengths and weaknesses of alternative approaches or solutions to a situation and exercise appropriate judgement in establishing priorities while considering the benefits of potential actions.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to communicate in English with patrons, management and other employees. Second language preferred but not required.
  • Must have strong general computer skills, basic knowledge of the Microsoft suite of programs and the ability to type quickly.
  • Must be able to work effectively in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Must possess a positive, “whatever it takes” attitude.
  • Must have strong problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Must maintain the confidentiality of patron information and pertinent hotel data.
  • Must have a high level of attention to detail.
  • Must possess outstanding organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills.
  • A valid Nevada Gaming License, CPR and Alcohol Awareness certifications are required and must be obtained before entering this position.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
