Job description

We are seeking an experienced Buyer to join our growing hospitality procurement team. The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing a wide range of products and services, including food and beverage supplies, operating supplies (OS&E), maintenance materials, equipment, and general services. This role supports multiple properties by ensuring timely delivery, maintaining quality standards, controlling costs, and building strategic supplier partnerships.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in purchasing, procurement, vendor management, contract negotiation, inventory planning, supply chain operations, and hospitality purchasing practices.

What You Will Do:

  • Source, evaluate, and select qualified suppliers and vendors to ensure competitive pricing, quality products, and reliable service.
  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships that support operational excellence and long-term business goals.
  • Lead negotiations for contracts, pricing, rebates, service agreements, and purchasing terms to maximize value and reduce costs.
  • Develop and implement strategic procurement initiatives that support operational requirements while achieving budget objectives.
  • Process purchase orders accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, supplier issues, and purchasing-related concerns.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to forecast demand, maintain inventory levels, and prevent shortages or excess inventory.
  • Verify that goods and services are received according to purchase orders and contractual agreements prior to invoice approval and payment.
  • Ensure purchased products meet established quality standards, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance guidelines, including food safety and health regulations.
  • Monitor supplier performance and document vendor results through the Supplier Rating Program and performance evaluations.
  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends, product innovations, alternative suppliers, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Analyze purchasing metrics, spending trends, and supplier performance data to support strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Prepare reports related to expenditures, cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement activities.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing documentation, contracts, supplier records, and procurement files.
  • Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes through spend analysis and purchasing recommendations.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives within procurement and supply chain operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring:

  • 5–8 years of experience in a Buyer, Purchasing Agent, Procurement Specialist, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, or Purchasing role.
  • Preferred experience within the hospitality, hotel, resort, vacation ownership, food service, restaurant, or retail industries.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, supplier negotiations, contracts, and procurement processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management), CPPB, CSCP, or other procurement/supply chain certifications preferred but not required.
  • Strong negotiation, strategic sourcing, and vendor management skills.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on cost control and process improvement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel for reporting and spend analysis.
  • Experience with procurement systems, ERP platforms, and purchasing software.
  • Prior Oracle ERP experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes, purchasing best practices, and supply chain principles.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and demand planning concepts.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with operations, finance, food & beverage, and leadership teams.
  • Knowledge of hospitality purchasing and supplier management best practices preferred.
