We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Cloud Migration and DevOps engineering teams-driving the delivery of large-scale cloud migration and modernization programs while building and growing a high-performing engineering organization.
Responsibilities Include
- Lead from the front as a hands-on technical leader across Cloud Infrastructure, Migration and DevOps engagements, setting the standard through example.
- Lead, mentor, and grow teams of Migration and DevOps engineers, assigning work, reviewing quality, and removing blockers.
- Drive team utilization and operational efficiency, balancing capacity against delivery commitments.
- Support hiring - attract, interview, and onboard diverse, highly skilled engineering talent.
- Build a positive, inclusive work culture that motivates engineers and retains top talent.
- Upskill and cross-skill the team on cloud, migration, and automation technologies through training and enablement.
- Apply strong project management discipline - planning, tracking, and delivering programs on schedule using Agile methodologies.
- Oversee end-to-end migration programs from mobilization through cutover and hypercare, ensuring sound wave plans, runbooks, and go/no-go criteria.
- Define and deliver strategic plans for implementing Cloud migration and DevOps technologies.
- Collaborate with sales and delivery teams on competency planning and capacity.
- Support presales and pursuits with tooling recommendations, effort sizing, and delivery approach.
- Conduct continuous feedback and appraisal discussions, and create growth opportunities through coaching.
- Proactively communicate program status, gaps, risks, and delays to leadership; drive resolution.
- Work across business, technology, and other functions to unblock teams and resolve issues.
- Contribute to Presidio's Migration and DevOps accelerators, playbooks, and reusable delivery assets.
Required Skills And Professional Experience
- At least 10 - 14 years of experience technically leading projects from requirements analysis, design, and implementation with attention to security, scalability, performance, availability, and cost optimization, including 2 to 3 years in a people/team leadership capacity.
- Strong hands-on AWS experience core services, Landing Zone / Control Tower, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, and the Well-Architected Framework.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) for post-migration provisioning and application redeployment.
- Proven experience leading Cloud Migration programs across Mobilize, Migrate, and Modernize phases, with working knowledge of 7R migration strategies.
- Hands-on familiarity with AWS-native and third-party migration tooling such as: Application Migration Service (MGN), Database Migration Service (DMS) & SCT, Migration Hub, Application Discovery Service (ADS), DataSync/Snowball, and tools such as CloudEndure, Zerto, or Carbonite.
- Scripting proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for migration and DevOps automation.
- Working knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS/ECS, Helm, OpenShift) as part of replatform/refactor strategies.
- Strong grounding in cloud security best practices: IAM least privilege, encryption at rest/in transit, Security Hub, and GuardDuty.
- Knowledge of project management tools and Agile methodologies.
- Demonstrated leadership working with business units, product management, development, and operations to architect solutions meeting functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability goals on realistic schedules.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) or AWS Professional/Specialty, or Kubernetes (CKA) certifications are preferred.
