POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Planner performs a variety of administrative tasks in support of the Planning department to ensure data integrity across multiple systems. The Production Planner works closely with Production, Logistics, Buyers, Sales and Customers to ensure on-time delivery while maintaining order accuracy in accordance with required quality standards. This position supports the Production Planning and Purchasing teams with cross-functional visibility of the supply chain. The Production Planner reports to the Planning and Logistics Manager.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Opening and maintaining sales orders to provide high quality products to customers.
- Assist with the distribution of sales order confirmations to customers using various communication methods.
- Assists Planning Department in obtaining expediting information related to the customers' orders.
- Tracking manufactured components that ship with the compressor to ensure the customer's order is complete in a timely matter.
- Performs weekly sales order review on past due sales orders in "on hold" or "open" status.
- Run and monitor sales order status in Advance Planning and Scheduling (APS)
- Update Operations, Order processing, and Purchasing Group of any obstacles that will result in delayed orders
- Perform maintenance on sales order and scheduling information for data integrity including updating monthly past due sales order dates.
- Release orders to production and warehouse daily.
- Creates Part Sales job orders and rework/repair to inventory job orders.
- Record obstacles and updates from the Daily Production Meeting and make sure the correct people are informed of the obstacles to find a solution.
- Monitoring Missing Parts Lists and prioritizing the parts systematically.
- Researching Why Lates for upcoming orders
- Update open orders in BOMAF Process
- Performs tasks in accordance with the Company's ISO quality standards.
- Provides support and assistance in a team member's absence.
- Participates in process improvement activities
- Regular, reliable attendance.
- Other duties may be assigned.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- BA/BS in Business Administration, Operations Management or related field; OR two plus years of relevant experience or the equivalent of a combination of four years education (may include vocational institute certification of graduation) and experience which would provide the required knowledge and skills and allows successful performance of the job.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid technical and computer skills in a Windows environment including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).
- Demonstrated ability to work under deadline situations and flexibility in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Must be detail oriented able to multi-task and prioritize demands.
- Self-starter with an ability to resolve issues and research solutions.
- Ability to work under pressure and independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate information clearly and effectively.
- Ability to comprehend and respond to internal customer needs in a timely manner.
VALUED BUT NOT REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools; Made2Manage a plus.
- Knowledge of manufacturing industry.

The noise levels in some manufacturing facilities frequently may exceed the normal dBA. The employee is required to wear necessary protection (foot, eye, ear, etc.) when walking through the plant.
Normal working schedule: Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5:00PM EST, with a flexible work schedule available.
