  • Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST
  • Weekend Availability: Required as needed based on workload
  • Pay Rate: $5–$7 per hour , depending on experience and qualifications

Job Summary

Bush & Bush Law Group is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Motion Drafting Litigation Assistant to support our litigation team. This role focuses on drafting high-quality legal motions and pleadings while ensuring accuracy, compliance with court rules, and adherence to strict deadlines. The ideal candidate has strong legal writing skills, a solid understanding of civil litigation procedures, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, edit, and format litigation motions, pleadings, responses, replies, and supporting documents.
  • Assist attorneys with motion practice, including motions to dismiss, compel, summary judgment, and other pre-trial filings.
  • Conduct legal research to support motion drafting and litigation strategy.
  • Ensure all filings comply with federal, state, and local court rules, including formatting and citation requirements.
  • Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, and case managers to meet filing deadlines.
  • Prepare documents for e-filing and assist with filing in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Review and proofread documents for accuracy, consistency, and legal sufficiency.
  • Maintain organized case files and document management systems.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a litigation assistant, paralegal, or legal assistant (motion drafting experience required).
  • Strong legal writing, grammar, and proofreading skills.
  • Knowledge of civil litigation procedures and court rules.
  • Experience with legal research tools and document management systems.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in personal injury or civil litigation.
  • Familiarity with federal and state e-filing systems.
  • Ability to work remotely and meet productivity expectations.
