UOP Engineering, Services & Equipment (ES&E) - Digital Transformation Center (DTC) has an exciting opening for a C# Developer/Skill Engineer to join our experienced engineering applications development team. This team creates exciting programs that use cutting edge IT technologies to support and enhance engineering design processes for UOP building refining and petrochemical plants customers. These programs are comprised of web-based applications, SharePoint work process solutions, client server applications, data mining system, Microsoft Office tools and expert systems.

DTC is embarking on an exciting and ambitious multiyear UOP engineering development plan that aims to revolutionize the UOP engineering design process by employing cloud computing technologies for enhanced automation and building of AI\Expert systems.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to work in developing our new Cloud systems, working side by side with the world’s leading chemical engineering subject matter experts. You will play a key role in proposing improvements to current IT design processes, and new solutions for our future multi-year vision.

You will interface with the many aspects of this business to build new applications using Agile development methodologies. You’ll enhance existing applications, proposing solutions to technical and business process problems. You will help build and drive adoption strategies for new solutions on both hardware and software functions throughout UOP engineering. Strategies will include training, mentoring, transitioning, and building an agile process that is compatible with the documented UOP design manuals and propose changes where necessary.

YOU MUST HAVE

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar technical focus 2+ years of experience developing object-oriented applications and/or web development using .NET technologies

WE VALUE

Some knowledge of Chemical engineering design processes. Experience supporting end users and troubleshooting problems during design phase of refining and chemical plant designs Some knowledge of commercial process simulators, engineering databases and programming automations of such systems is highly desirable Experience working on agile projects and executing a project from start to finish Experience developing intuitive UI in Web apps, Microsoft Office, MVC. Experience developing windows services in n-tier client server environment Experience in multiple languages, including VB.NET, C#.NET, WPF, MVC, XML, JAVA, VB, VBA and C++ Microsoft SQL server v2008 and up, Oracle 11g and up Good understanding Active Directory Experience with packaging software like InstallShield, etc. Familiarity with Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence, etc. Adaptable self-starter who is skilled at creating structure in ambiguous and matrix environments Strong logical and analytical problem-solving skills; rigorous approach to project management to deliver enterprise-level projects
