The Airports Engineering Leader will lead the project engineering function at Engineering Centre level, to ensure HAB delivers best in class solutions to meet customer expectations whilst achieving safety, quality, schedule and financial goals. Lead the technical execution, functional and engineering management disciplines necessary to enhance the competitive position of HAB to meet growth objectives.
You will ensure that all airports related engineering work for projects and services are scoped and staffed appropriately, timelines are feasible and technical requirements can be met. The role’s task is to ensure that airports related projects are set-up correctly within the different regions and ensure that the projects are staffed rightly to guarantee proper execution in time and budget. You will be the main driver for the software transformation and will be a key interface to the R&D organization.
The Global Engineering Leader is responsible for ensuring successful productivity measurements, driving cost, right tools and processes, quality, cycle time, and customer experience improvements for Global Airports.
Responsibilities
- Ensure global Leadership to the organization with definition of clear accountability and responsibility for the Engineering function •
Manage and support the Vision of the Leadership by providing and establishing Engineering Know How throughout the regions including software transformation programs and estimation oversight
Define and Identify breakthrough innovations & champion significant change strategies and concepts in order to provide Operational Excellence in the Engineering function
Ensure and establish the right tools in order to implement standardization throughout the regions
Ensure correct and accurate Resource Planning of Engineering and Design Resources
Review of Project plans to evaluate risks (timing, resources, etc.) and optimize Operational Income and cost structure
Development of cost estimates for VDGS, AOCC, A-CDM, CMS and AGL projects from an Engineering perspective
Participate in estimate review process prior to quotation delivery to ensure engineering labor estimates are correct and that the work is achievable from a technical perspective.
Ensure right development of QA/QC processes and sourcing, that program management and other engineering policies and procedures are implemented and followed during all phases of the project in accordance with established procedures
Analyze business best practice, and set vision for future
Establish and maintain relationships with the customer and ensure customer’s satisfaction are at acceptable levels
Interface with Major Projects, regional operational leaders and other internal departments when required
YOU MUST HAVE
- Degree in relevant Engineering field.
- Extensive proven hands on Senior Management/Leadership role experience required
- Expert knowledge of Airfield Systems, primarily (AFLCMS) Airfield Lighting System and related Control & Monitoring System, (VDGS) Visual Docking and Guidance System, and knowledge of Interfaces with other (ATC) Air Traffic Control Systems to drive best practice engineering processes and tools to proactively manage design and prevent technical issues that lead to Project deviation
- Software related experiences to ensure that software project & engineering set-up is guaranteed
- Good understanding of AFL/ATC/Software Projects and product applications
- Thorough knowledge of Projects field Engineering according to a timeline and budget as well as managing challenges on projects
- Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse team and have a solid track record of delivering high complex tasks
- The ability to understand financial data at contract level and identify appropriate actions indicated by variances to ensure key metrics are achieved
- The ability to obtain relevant information on operational issues from multiple sources, think broadly about those issues and recognize trends/possible cause-effect relationships
- The ability to make considered and effective decisions and take clear action to address issues
- The ability to mobilize resources and develop and implement action plans / control mechanisms to achieve desired results and deliver on commitments
- The ability to understand the implications and assess the appropriate degree of acceptable risk and take actions to minimize risk
- The ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customers based on trust and mutual understanding
- The ability to embrace change and guide the team through periods of change in a positive and proactive way
