D.C. Goodman & Sons performs commercial and industrial electrical work — including general electrical, power generation, high/medium voltage distribution, and BIM-coordinated construction — on projects like hospitals and college campuses. We're hiring an Electrical Foreman to lead crews on active commercial/industrial construction and renovation sites, including multistory and big-box /retail projects. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical skill and the ability to direct a crew.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a crew of 5+ electricians and apprentices on commercial/industrial job sites

  • Read blueprints/specs and translate them into field layout and installation
  • Ensure work meets NEC code and passes inspection
  • Order materials, track inventory, and coordinate site deliveries
  • Communicate with project managers on progress, delays, and scope changes
  • Coordinate with other trade foremen (mechanical, plumbing, fire protection) on multi-trade jobs
  • Enforce jobsite safety and OSHA compliance
  • Troubleshoot field issues and make judgment calls when specs don't match site conditions
  • Train and mentor apprentices/junior electricians
  • Maintain timesheets, daily reports, and closeout punch lists

Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years as an electrician, including 3-5+ years running projects/crews
  • Strong commercial/industrial background (not primarily residential)
  • Experience with lighting and control systems, fire alarm systems, and multistory projects
  • Ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, and specs; working knowledge of NEC
  • Experience with panel work, conduit runs, and high/medium voltage distribution
  • OSHA 30
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred

  • Master Electrician License, especially for pulling permits
  • Prior foreman /crew-lead experience
  • Comfort coordinating with other trades (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) on multi-trade jobs
