Associate / Senior Associate — Partnerships
Job description
Who is GATI?
We are a non-profit working at the frontier of ethical global skills and labour mobility — building corridors, standards, and institutions that connect Indian talent to the world. We work across central and state governments, industry, and international partners in Germany, Japan, Israel, Finland, and the EU. The following three roles strengthen our Partnerships team. Across all of them, we hire for character as much as competence: ownership, empathy, and the ability to think in systems.
Position Name: Associate / Senior Associate — Partnerships
Team: Partnerships
Experience: 0–3 years
Type: Full-time
About the role
You will sit at the intersection of policy and partnerships — translating research into engagement, and relationships into outcomes. This is a generalist's role for someone early in their career who wants exposure to high-stakes government and private-sector work, with real ownership from day one. Senior Associates take the same scope with greater independence and lead on cross-cutting initiatives.
What you'll do
- Conduct policy research and synthesis on skills mobility, labour markets, and migration corridors to inform our engagements.
- Coordinate across stakeholders — ministries, state governments, industry members, and international partners — keeping workstreams moving and on time.
- Support the development and management of private-sector partnerships, from first outreach to MoU and delivery.
- Draft briefs, concept notes, decks, and follow-ups to a publishable standard.
- Help operationalise GSMAI's sub-committees and member activities.
What we're looking for
- 0–3 years of experience in policy, research, consulting, development, or a partnerships/BD function.
- Strong research instincts and the ability to make sense of unfamiliar sectors quickly.
- Excellent coordination and follow-through across many moving parts and senior stakeholders.
- An interest in skills, migration, labour markets, or India's international engagement.
Qualities we hire for
- Deep ownership — you treat your workstream as your own and drive it to closure without being chased.
- Genuine team player with high empathy for colleagues, partners, and the migrant workers and aspirants at the heart of our mission.
- Design thinking and systems thinking — you can zoom into detail and zoom out to the whole, and design solutions that account for the full ecosystem.
- Clear, structured written and verbal communication suited to senior government, industry, and international audiences.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a builder's mindset; GATI and GSMAI are in active build-out mode.
