Sales Planning Analyst (12 Month Contract)
Job description
The purpose of the role is to manage inventory forecasting, box preparation, and global stock balancing processes to support diamond sales operations. The role ensures data accuracy, operational efficiency, and compliance with governance standards, while delivering insights that inform strategic decisions
Key Tasks:
- Ensure corporate governance requirements in technical, assurance, occupational health and safety, and environment are in place for projects and all staff (contract and permanent), and that equipment complies with governance, safety, and security standards and policies.
- Ensure timely and appropriate incident reporting, management and investigation and implement required remedial action to maintain and restore standards.
- Implement and participate in SHE campaigns as scheduled.
- Use forecast data to model box availability and pricing.
- Maintain consistency in product offerings across the ITO period.
- Provide insights and scenario analysis to support sales strategy
- Manage splitting, rolling, and shipping operations to meet deadlines.
- Support import/export documentation and compliance.
- Maintain audit-ready records and manage stock movements.
- Provide stock visibility to senior leadership.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Produce stock and sales reports for various stakeholders.
- Contribute to trend analysis and system improvements.
- Support cross-functional planning and forecasting efforts.
- Undergraduate qualification (bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline, e.g. Statistics, Business Management or proven track record of practical experience in a role of similar complexity
Experience
- Must have advanced data analysis with proven ability to draw insight from analysis, write reports and make recommendations for submission to the appropriate stakeholder
- Must have strong Diamond Pipeline knowledge and GSS operational procedures
- Strong track record of insightful analytics ideally within a product-based environment
Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent knowledge of PDTC operational processes and systems used
- Excellent knowledge in data manipulation in Excel and Micro-strategy software
- Good knowledge of DBGSS Pipeline
- Good knowledge of De Beers rough diamond valuation and presentation assortment structures
- Report writing and presentation skills
- Ability to draw insight and make recommendations from data and process analysis
