Solar Field Engineer
Job description
Location : Makati
Work Setup : Onsite
Work Schedule : Fully Onsite, Dayshift, Monday-Friday
Overview
Solar Field Engineer will take charge of solar power and EV charging station installations from the ground up. This role owns the technical execution on-site — from initial survey through commissioning and client turnover — while making sure every project meets the company's safety, quality, and engineering standards. It also covers hands-on troubleshooting and support once systems are up and running.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Site Assessment
- Conduct thorough site surveys and translate client energy requirements and site conditions into a clear system design and installation methodology.
- Produce accurate SLDs and shop drawings that installation teams can execute against with minimal back-and-forth.
Installation & Project Delivery
- Lead and directly supervise the installation of solar power systems — hybrid, off-grid, and grid-tied — plus EV charging station builds.
- Own project execution end-to-end: keep timelines on track, control costs, and enforce safety and quality standards at every stage, not just at the final walkthrough.
- Manage materials and equipment inventory on-site, catching quality issues before they become installation problems.
Testing, Commissioning & Handover
- Run full testing and commissioning on every installed system to confirm all components perform as designed before the client ever sees it live.
- Prepare complete handover packages — SLDs, documentation, and system training — so clients can confidently operate and maintain what's been installed.
Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement
- Provide on-site troubleshooting during installation and after go-live, resolving issues quickly to protect the client relationship.
- Monitor how installed systems perform over time and flag improvement opportunities — this isn't a "build it and walk away" role.
- Maintain thorough, organized documentation of every installation and troubleshooting activity for audit and reference purposes.
Cross-Team Coordination
- Work in lockstep with sales and technical support engineers so nothing falls through the cracks between the sale, the build, and after-sales support.
- Ensure every installation complies with local electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards — no shortcuts.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with 3–5 years of hands-on experience in the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) industry.
- Experience : Solar-specific experience is a strong plus but not a hard requirement — we're equally interested in strong electrical/EPC fundamentals.
- Technical Depth : Advanced, practical knowledge of electrical systems across residential, commercial, and industrial installations.
- Design Skills : Proficient in AutoCAD, able to independently produce Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and electrical shop drawings that a construction crew can build from without hand-holding.
- Communication : Confident explaining technical decisions to clients, contractors, and internal teams in both Filipino and English — this role is client-facing, not just back-of-house.
- Precision & Reliability : Sharp attention to detail, especially under field conditions where mistakes are costly to fix later.
- Mobility & Independence : Willing and able to travel extensively across Luzon, manage several concurrent projects without close supervision, and make sound calls on-site.
- Requirements : Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle
