Staff Engineer – Quality
Job description
- Lead product quality team to meet departmental and organizational goals.
- Oversee in-process and final product quality inspections, provide consultation in quality across the manufacturing value stream.
- Allocate resources effectively to support production lines and quality initiatives from quality department.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, procedures, product and process requirements.
- Ensure closed loop of internal process and external audit findings including product safety audits.
- Manage non-conformance investigations and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Lead resolution of customer complaints and quality issues, ensuring timely and effective responses through structure problem solving process (PSS/8D).
- Act as the primary quality interface for internal and external customers within the product value stream.
- Identify and lead quality improvement projects using tools such as 8D, PSS, FMEA, CP, MSA, Capability Studies, SPC, and etc.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for product and process improvement to meet KPIs.
- Analyze trends and implement preventive measures to improve quality performance.
- Track and report key quality KPIs in a timely manner and lead improvement action plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records, reports, and documentation.
- Specific tasks assigned by the supervisor as and when necessary to meet the target or deadline.
- Representing QMM in PT working groups and COCs.

- Ability to apply in-depth knowledge of problem solving technique in solving Quality issues including risk assessment evaluation.
- Effective communication, collaboration and moderation skills with all levels within the organization, suppliers and customers.
- Proficient in stakeholder management and influencing.
- Bachelor Degree in technical discipline (eg. Engineering, Science) or a related field.
- Preferable with professional qualification eg. certified Six Sigma Black Belt, Certified Manager for Quality Organizational and Excellence, Charter Quality Professional.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in manufacturing environment (Quality, New Product & Project, Engineering, Process).
- Preferably Certified Lead Assessor/Auditor or System auditor experiences.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 Standard, TS16949, Product safety requirement eg. IEC, EN, UL, etc.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, giving constructive feedback regularly & self-motivation, monitor & follow up assignments/jobs towards achievement of goals.

He/she leads the Value Stream Quality team, ensuring that both product and process quality are maintained and continuously improved. He/She is responsible for driving quality excellence by aligning operational practices with customer expectations, regulatory standards, and internal quality requirements. Develop and review the effectiveness of the Quality Management System for Value Stream. Drive for cross-functional teams quality mindset, he/she fosters a collaborative environment that emphasizes proactive quality management and innovation. The role requires a leadership mindset to guide quality initiatives, a hands-on approach to resolving quality challenges, and a strong commitment to cultivating a culture of continuous improvement within the product lifecycles. He/she contributes directly to enhancing product reliability, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
