Sales Engineer (Oil & Gas)

Our client is the leading manufacturer and supplier of high-performance seals. They supply to various industries from Oil & Gas, LNG, Wind Power, Coal Mining, Construction, Marine, Hydraulic Application, Semiconductor, Medical and Automotive. Our client consider to be the solution provider of critical sealing and connector solutions.
Job Requirements
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of oil & gas operations (upstream, midstream, downstream).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Familiarity with tendering processes, bid preparation, and contract negotiation.
- Proficiency in CRM tools, MS Office, and technical presentation software.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for engaging clients at executive and technical levels.
- Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills to tailor solutions to client needs.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multicultural teams.
Industry & Market Knowledge
- Deep knowledge of Malaysia's oil & gas market landscape, including Petronas and regional contractors.
- Awareness of regulatory requirements, safety standards, and compliance frameworks.
- Understanding of market trends, pricing dynamics, and competitor activities.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related field.
- Professional certifications in sales, project management, or oil & gas standards (API, ISO) are advantageous.
- Minimum 3–5 years of technical sales or business development experience in the oil & gas sector.
- Proven track record in selling industrial products such as valves, seals, pumps, or engineering solutions.
- Experience working with EPC contractors, drilling companies, and major oilfield service providers and contractors.
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to travel frequently within Malaysia and occasionally across Southeast Asia.
- Strong client relationship management and networking skills.
- Results-driven with ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Fluency in English; Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin are advantageous.
