Air Services Manager

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Air Services Manager to lead and develop our Air Export & Import operations. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, financial performance, team development, customer satisfaction, and process improvement while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

The ideal candidate will possess strong logistics expertise, leadership capabilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced international logistics environment.

• Manage and support daily air export & air Import operations and quotation activities.
• Review local charges and agent quotations to minimize potential branch losses and improve profitability.
• Maintain strong knowledge of air export & air import products, including breakbulk, gateway, and pricing strategies.
• Lead team huddles and monthly operational meetings to discuss market intelligence, workload distribution, and department priorities.
• Collaborate with Sales teams by providing market updates, air freight trends, and operational insights.
• Develop, implement, and monitor initiatives that drive revenue growth and operational efficiency.
• Support and review departmental P&L performance while ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
• Build strong relationships with airlines, trucking providers, and strategic vendors to optimize service and cost efficiency.
• Partner with Trade Compliance teams to ensure regulatory adherence and support audit requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, systems, and customer experience.
• Support implementation of new technologies, operational systems, and process changes.
• Monitor departmental KPIs and ensure achievement of budget, service, and productivity goals.
• Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Desk-Level Operating Procedures are documented, maintained, and regularly updated.
• Analyze operational workflows and recommend solutions that improve service quality while maintaining cost controls.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development support to team members.

Required

• Minimum 8 years of experience in the freight forwarding, logistics, or air cargo industry.
• Strong knowledge of the UAE air freight market, including air export gateways and export procedures.
• In-depth understanding of global air freight operations and export procedures. Air export experience is a must.
• Dangerous Goods knowledge is mandatory.
• Strong business development skills with a good understanding of P&L management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
• Strong financial acumen and understanding of operational budgeting and profitability.

Preferred

• IATA/FIATA certification or completion of an IATA/FIATA introductory course.
• Experience working within international logistics and supply chain environments.
• Knowledge of airline pricing, capacity management, and air cargo market trends.
