Job description
In collaboration with the Director, Flight Safety, the incumbent contributes to the prevention of incidents by ensuring the analysis, follow-up, and continuous improvement of practices related to flight operations safety.
Responsibilities
- Receive, analyze, and follow up on safety reports and incidents.
- Assess risks, determine root causes, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Coordinate follow-ups with the managers concerned and ensure implementation of corrective measures.
- Provide feedback to employees who report safety events, including analysis results and actions taken.
- Participate in investigations, including joint investigations when required.
- Act as a communication link between the Flight Safety Department and pilots.
- Prepare and distribute flight safety communications (e.g., newsletters for pilots).
- Participate actively in safety meetings (daily, monthly, and committee meetings).
- Support the Director, Flight Safety and the Senior Director, Safety, Quality, and Security as needed.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the aviation industry, particularly in flight operations, aviation safety, as a pilot, air traffic control or flight dispatch.
- Pilot licence is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
- High level of autonomy, rigor, and effective prioritization skills.
- Availability to travel as required.
- Excellent command of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and demonstrated ease with collaborative digital tools and AI (e.g., Copilot).
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Oral and written fluency in French and English *
A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders in Quebec, the rest of Canada, and internationally.
