Job description

Our client is an independent 5-star luxury boutique resort located in the heart of Seminyak. They are seeking an experienced Sales Manager – Leisure (China) to develop and grow business from the Chinese leisure market, strengthen relationships with key travel partners, and drive room revenue through strategic sales initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a sales department for a minimum of five years in building the Chinese market within a 5-star luxury hotel or resort.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred. • Strong background in the Chinese market within the leisure segment, with an established network of travel agencies, wholesalers, tour operators, and luxury travel partners.
  • Experience working with internationally recognised luxury hospitality brands is highly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of luxury leisure travel trends and the Chinese outbound travel market.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and expanding market share.
  • Strong negotiation, business development, and account management skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Willingness to travel for sales calls, client visits, trade shows, and industry events.
  • Fluency in Mandarin is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to grow the resort's business within the Chinese leisure market.
  • Build, manage, and maintain strong relationships with travel agencies, tour operators, wholesalers, online travel partners, and key industry accounts.
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand the property's presence in the China market.
  • Conduct regular sales calls, client meetings, presentations, and familiarization trips to promote the resort.
  • Represent the property at trade shows, roadshows, and industry events targeting the Chinese travel market.
  • Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements to maximize revenue and long-term partnerships.
  • Work closely with the Revenue, Marketing, and Reservations teams to optimize business opportunities and market performance.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
  • Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and account performance reviews, ensuring sales targets are achieved.
  • Ensure all sales initiatives align with the resort's luxury positioning and deliver long-term business growth.
