Project Director - PMCM
Job description
We are seeking an experienced and decisive Project Director - PMCM to lead complex project management and construction management initiatives in Doha, Qatar. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of project delivery, from planning and execution to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will direct cross-functional teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and drive organizational excellence across all project phases.
- Direct and oversee all phases of project management and construction management, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and client requirements
- Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets; monitor progress and implement corrective actions to maintain project performance
- Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring clear communication across all stakeholders
- Manage project budgets and costs, implementing cost control measures and ensuring financial accountability throughout the project lifecycle
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks; develop contingency plans to address potential issues proactively
- Oversee contract management activities, including vendor selection, negotiation, and performance monitoring
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and local construction codes and regulations applicable in Qatar
- Manage stakeholder communications, providing regular updates on project status, milestones, and deliverables
- Analyze project performance metrics and prepare detailed reports for senior management and clients
- Implement best practices in project management methodologies and continuously improve project delivery processes
- Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in project management and construction management
- Proven expertise in managing large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of project management frameworks and methodologies
- Demonstrated proficiency with project management software (Microsoft Project, Oracle Primavera, or similar tools)
- Excellent budget management and financial analysis skills
- Strong contract management and procurement experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Proficiency in risk management and mitigation strategies
- Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control processes
- Familiarity with construction safety standards and regulations
- Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 certification
- Preferred: Experience with construction projects in the Middle East region
- Preferred: Knowledge of local Qatar construction standards and regulatory requirements
